Contrary to popular belief, DO NOT pee on your jellyfish sting.  This is for all you beachgoers that read this blog…which is probably zero, because all five of you live a bit far from jellyfish stomping grounds.

  • What in the world possessed you to post this random (yet helpful) information?!?!

  • Pee or no pee, jelly fish are nothing compared to Portuguese man-of-wars.

Cape Cod Times: “They have a purplish-blue, football-shaped gas bubble that remains on top of the water and resembles a floating plastic bag. But under the body, thousands of tentacles dangle up to 100 feet below the surface, searching for prey to sting and stun. Although not usually deadly, the sting can cause anaphylactic shock in humans.” Even after they’re dead, their stinging cells can still get you. They’ve sent several people to the hospital this summer.

And yes you do have at least one pal currently living in areas with gelatinous and stinging creatures. : )
